A welcome sheet is handed out at every hike. This sheet has all you need to join and get on the mailing list.

Reminder, anyone wishing to receive their newsletter by e-mail instead of
by postal mail (we have saved postage costs keeping dues down), please
forward your e-mail address to Bernie Frick to sign up.
Every Thursday a group meets to do trail work. Contact Jim Hooper for location and time (717)-252-3784.
Phyllis Morley would like to remind all hike leaders to forward the sign-up sheet to her so that all the new hikers will get the correct credit for the 30 miles for membership. If you are a guest and feel you have met your 30 miles, but have not been mentioned in the newsletter please contact Phyllis Morley at (717) 764-6822.
Tim has volunteered to maintain a catalog of hikes to be shared with future hike leaders who are looking for suggestions of where to hike. Thanks!

December 6 (medium): Mason-Dixon trail hike: This 7.5 mile hike will follow the MDTS along the National Wild and Scenic White Clay Creek in the bi-state Delaware and Pennsylvania Park and Preserve. Meet 7:30 AM
at Vo-Tec (York
County High School of Technology). or 9 AM at the Pennsylvania Preserve Lot 1 parking area on London Tract Rd. just before the junction of London Tract Rd. with Good Hope Rd. Bring water, lunch and dress as weather dictates. There is a MDTS meeting at 2 PM in the meeting room of the Pennsylvania Preserve in the historic Primitive Baptist Church. Dinner stop optional. December 14 (short): Hike Hollowcreek Greenway Trail and surrounding area for about 5 miles. Contact Regina Markle (717) 428-3545 for meeting time and place and details.
December 14 (long): Approximately 10 miles in Michaux State Forest on hiking and multi-use trails. Meet at

December 21 (medium): Caledonia State Park, Quarry Gap circuit hike. This is a moderate 7.1 miles using part of the AT and part park trails, total elevation gain 1200 ft-400 ft in 0.5 miles. Hike along a stream surrounded by rhododendron thickets and hemlocks in Dark Hollow. Meet

Electric 8:30 AM. Bring boots, water, lunch, snacks. Option to stop afterward for holiday cheer at the new winery off RT 30. Leader: Gwen Loose (717) 891-9967. Car

December 28 (short): Take a brisk, 5 mile hike at Hashawa County Park thru woods, fields, pine groves and along streams. Some steep but short hills and trails may be muddy. We will visit the resident bald eagle and raptors present. Perfect post holiday hike. Bring boots, water, snacks. Meet

December 28 (long): No hike leader

Hike leaders are needed for the following dates in January: 11 (short and long), 18 (short and long), 25 (medium). Please contact Bill Anderson

The following people have fulfilled the requirements for membership and will be invited to join the club if there are no objections within ten* days: Jerry & Chris Broome, York, PA 17406.
Any hike leader who has maps (topo, hand drawn, or otherwise) of past hikes they have led are asked to send a copy to Tim Schmidt, president
