MARCH 5 - Covered Dish & Program: . York Township Recreation Building at 6:30 PM. Bring a dish to share. Having your own place setting is appreciated, but paper goods will be available.

This program was to be presented Jan 8, but due to equipment problems, we were not able to show it and it has been rescheduled for this date. The program will be a slide show on the Mason-Dixon Trail. Some of our club members have made a significant commitment over the last 30 years to establish and maintain this trail which traverses 193 miles and connects the AT at Whiskey Springs to the Brandywine Trail near Chadds Ford. Between Wrightsville and the Norman Wood Bridge the trail generally follows the Susquehanna River, includes the counties newest park at Highpoint, an undeveloped parks at Apollo and some of the most wild and rugged areas of York County. Find out why this section has been nominated for national recognition and part of it was selected for the Super Hike sponsored by Keystone Trails Association last fall.

In September, 2009 William Schaffer of Vermont and his wife walked the entire trail and took extensive photos, which they turned over to the M-DTS. Selected photos from their collection have been combined with others to make up this slide show. Contact Bernie Frick for additional information at 843-6675.
