work trips, special events and announcements.
All are welcome to come on out on a hike to see what the club is all about.
A welcome sheet is handed out at every hike. This sheet has all you need to join and get on the mailing list.

Reminder, anyone wishing to receive their newsletter by e-mail instead of
by postal mail (we have saved postage costs keeping dues down), please
forward your e-mail address to Bernie Frick to sign up.
Tim has volunteered to maintain a catalog of hikes to be shared with future hike leaders who are looking for suggestions of where to hike. Thanks!

April 4 Saturday SHORT HIKE: sponsored by York County Parks, will travel from Wrightsville to Highpoint Scenic Area. A SPECIAL Saturday outing, 4 miles along the Mason Dixon Trail with the Director of PA Parks and Forest Foundation and Naturalist Marci Mowery, will focus on the particular nature and history of this area. This is a moderate, hilly, hike thru riparian woodland, to a panoramic view of the Susquehanna River. Bring sturdy shoes or boots, water and snacks. This hike starts at 9:00 AM, at the river access area on South Front Street, in Wrightsville. Please pre-register by calling York County Parks 428-1961. Or sign-up and carpool with the York Hiking Club at 8:30 AM in the
Boscov's East Parking of the Galleria Mall, near the Road House Restaurant. Carpool donation $1. For hike information call Skip Newcomer (717) 285-0146.
April 5 - MEDIUM HIKE: This scenic 5 mile hike starts at Wrightsville boat launch and ends at Moon Dancer Winery parking lot. We will have moderate elevation going through Murphy’s Hollow, Grace Plateau, and on to High Point, where you have a 360-degree view of the river and surrounding hills. Julie will be preparing snacks to eat at the winery after we finish the hike. Please bring water, snacks and wear good walking shoes/boots. Car pool fee $1.50. Meet at
Boscov's East Parking lot (near Texas Road House) off PA 24 at 12:30 pm. Hike leaders: Bob and Julie Falsetti (717) 854-3437.
April 5 LONG HIKE: Approximately 8.5 miles on Tuscarora Trail to Flat Rock and returning through Colonel Denning Park trails. There are 2 long climbs and some rocky terrain, and two stream crossings that won't get you wet unless we have wet weather before this hike. Meet at the
North
End meeting place next to Rutter's Store at 8 a.m. Bring good hiking boots, water and lunch. Car fee $6. Hike Leaders: Tom and Phyllis Morley (717) 764-6822.
April 12 HAPPY EASTER: No hike
April 19 Wild Flower Hike & Dinner at the JPJ: Join John Seville at 10:00 AM at JPJ. John will take us along the Susquehanna to enjoy the spring flowers and then onward for a five mile hike. At 1:30 PM we will get together at JPJ for a lasagna dinner and good company. Please call Mary Phipps at 818-8035 by Tuesday, April 14 for meal reservations.
April 24 -26 KTA WEEKEND
April 25 SATURDAY - SHORT HIKE: Five mile hike on Pickett Road and other country roads in the Dover area. Meet at

April 26 - MEDIUM HIKE: This hike is for the ambitious afternoon hiker. From Rt. 82, we walk a mile along a country lane by a quiet brook to a covered bridge and seven glorious, arduous miles of hills. A number of us intend to have dinner out after the hike. 12:00 noon at

HOOPER AWAY WEEKEND: May 1-3 Thunder Swamp weekend
Hike on the Thunder Swamp trail and stay in a motel in East Stroudsburg. Contact Jim Hooper (
