MESSAGES:

Here’s a chance to do some volunteer work for the Appalachian Trail that doesn’t involve hard work. Earn volunteer hours for the club while sitting on the porch at the Boiling Springs Mid-Atlantic office. As hikers come into town (the trail is ten feet from the porch), you’ll greet them & guide them to nearby restaurants, grocery stores, post office, etc...They keep the office open from May to September on weekends (and some evenings, if that fits in for you). You can sign up for a morning or afternoon shift on as many Saturdays and Sundays as you wish. Please contact John Luthy at the A.T. office in Boiling Springs, 717-258-5771 or e-mail john at
To make the job easier, there’s a booklet, "55 Questions that Hikers ask about Boiling Springs"...with answers.

EVERY THURSDAY a group meets to do trail work. Contact Jim Hooper for location/time (717)252-3784
