A welcome sheet is handed out at every hike.  This sheet has all you need to join and get on the mailing list.

OCTOBER 6 SHORT HIKE SATURDAY: Scenic hike in the Gunpowder Falls State Park. Enjoy the wooded trails and the stream. Mostly level, but a couple hills at first. Meet at Vo-Tec (York County High School of Technology) at 1:00. Bring water and hiking boots. Car Pool fee $2.00. Leader: Keith Wolf (717) 767-6699.

OCTOBER 14 LONG HIKE: 9 miles Caledonia State Park. Charcoal Hearth Trail, part AT, Blue Blaze, & Rambling trail. Small amount road walking, & steep incline at the beginning. Enjoy the beauty of Caledonia State Park. Bring water, boots & lunch. Meet at Adams Electric 8:30 AM. Car Pool fee $4.50. Leaders Jim & Linda Bean (717) 764-1091. 

OCTOBER 14 SHORT HIKE: 5 miles, in the southeast corner of Pinchot State Park. We leave the boat dock area on the south side of the lake follow Mill Rd a bit cross Beaver Creek and take the Lake Side Trail back to our cars. Bring water and hiking boots. Meet downtown 200 W. Market St. MAP! at 1:00 P.M. Car Pool fee $2.00.

OCTOBER 12-14 AWAY WEEKEND: Leave York on Friday, hike part of the Susquehannock Trail on Saturday and Sunday and stay in a bed and breakfast. Saturday supper is a covered dish. Return Sunday. Limited rooms left. Contact Jim and Joyce Hooper 252-3784 ASAP.

OCTOBER 21 SHORT HIKE: 6 miles Pinchot Park area, There are some trails and some road walking. Wear good shoes and don’t forget to bring water. Meet at Adams Electric at 1:30 P.M. Car Pool fee: $2.00 Leader: Frank Phipps 717-292-6690 (home) or 717-818-8035 (cell).

OCTOBER 21 LONG HIKE: 9.1 mile section of the Mason Dixon starting at Wago & Gut Rd. And ending at Wild Cat Falls. Mostly dirt and some hard road. Some of it follows the Susquehanna River. We will meet at Boscov's East Parking (close to the Texas Roadhouse) at 8:30 A.M. The Car Pool fee is $2.50. Wear suitable shoes or boots and bring lunch and water. OCTOBER 27 SHORT HIKE:-SATURDAY at 1:30PM - It’s time for the annual (well almost annual) Halloween Hike in Tateoland! This is a laid back hike from our house over farmland, woods, and dell (Dairypail farm that is). Stretch yore legs for 5 mile or 2 mile or so, or yawl jest come late and set a spell on the porch and wait. Wait for the serving of the Gatigor and Tabouli, and the socialness of the happy-after-hike-hour in our mansion. Meet in front Vo-Tec (York County High School of Technology) at 1:30PM or 209 Reynolds Mill Road at 1:45PM. No Car Pool fee. Hike leaders Sarah and Lou Tateosian 741-2652.


OCTOBER 28 MEDIUM HIKE: An other joint hike with BATONA. Buck & Doe depart Boscov's East Parking  at 12:00 P.M. We follow the course of Buck Run; hike upstream to covered bridges. We climb a hill for an unforgettable view of Chester county, follow Doe Run ascend high grassy meadows and in the twilight walk a quite rd to Mortonville. 8 miles. Car Pool Cost: $5.00 plus $1.00 for the Brandywine Conservancy. Leaders: Allen & Lore Britton 741-0624, .
