SEPTEMBER 3 - (MON) JPJ-COVERED DISH: Enjoy your Labor Day at the Cabin with food and an impromptu hike, or just good old fashion conversation. Bring a covered dish to share for the luncheon at 1:00 PM. Joan Seville will be the coordinator for the luncheon. Call her at 717-244-6769 about your dish. 

SEPTEMBER-9-SHORT HIKE: This scenic 5 mile hike starts at Wrightsville boat launch and ends at Kline’s Run Park. We will have moderate elevation going through Murphy’s Hollow, Grace Plateau, and on to High Point, at which point you have a 360-degree view of the river and river hills. There will be an optional stop at the Moon Dance Winery after we finish of the hike. Please bring water, snacks and wear good walking shoes/boots. Car pool fee $1.50. Meeting place is Boscov's East Parking (near Texas Road House) off PA 24, at 1:00 pm. Hike Leaders are Bob and Julie Falsetti. 717-854-3437.

SEPTEMBER 9 - LONG HIKE: A 10.9 mile- section of the Mason Dixon Trail Series, starting at Cooper Road and ending at Fishermans Park in MD. Dirt/gravel & hard roads for the first section. Woods, fields and along the river for the middle section. Modest elevation with numerous stream crossings. Enjoy a good workout as we hike through Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation, pass Ruins of the Hamilton residence and to the Summit of Bald Hill. We will meet at Vo-Tec (York County High School of Technology) at 8:30 A.M. Car pool fee $5.50. Wear suitable shoes/boots, bring lunch and water. SEPTEMBER 16 - MEDIUM HIKES: Another 7.9 mile of the MDT Series starting at Cold Cabin Park and goes to PA-MD line. We will be on dirt/gravel/hard roads, in woods, on RR beds, have few stream crossings and views along the river, and all this with moderate elevation. Bring water/lunch good walking boots. Meet at Vo-Tec (York County High School of Technology) at 8:30. Car pool fee $4.50. Contact Joyce Hooper at 717-252-3784. Co-leaders Rodney & Helen Lentz, 717-793-9340.

SEPTEMBER 21 - (FRIDAY) - ANNUAL MEETING & COVERED DISH: York Township Recreation Building, Oak Street. The covered dish will start at 6:30 followed by the annual meeting, which will include the election of officers, committee reports, & discussions of issues urgent to the club (e.g., setting the dues). All members are urged to attend. Bring a covered dish or dessert to share. For information contact Tim Schmidt, 717-235-5940.

   From I-83 exit 16, take Queen St (PA-74) south for about 1 mile.  At Campbell Music, turn left onto Oak St.  Drive about a tenth of a mile and stop at the stop sign; do not turn right.  Drive straight ahead past the township building to the small building in the middle of the field.


SEPTEMBER-23-SHORT HIKE: A circle hike approx. 4 miles of ups and downs , a beautiful view of the river at an overlook, in the Susquehannock State Park, Meet at South Meeting Place Vo-Tec (York County High School of Technology) at 1 pm or at 1:30 pm, at the parking area adjacent to the Landis House at the Susq. State Park. Bring hiking boots and water. Car Pool fee $2.00. Leader Sandy Grove-2449122

SEPTEMBER 23 - MEDIUM HIKE: A joint 8 mile- hike, with Batona Hiking Club, at Nolde Forest Environmental Center. Nolde encompasses more than 666 acres of forest. Come meet people you have a lot in common with and hike this wonderful treasure. Meet at Boscov’s East side parking lot, off Rt. 24, at 9:45AM. Car pool fee $3.50. Boots, water, lunch are a must. SEPTEMBER 29 - (SAT) SHORT HIKE: Approx. 5 miles at Rocky Ridge Park. The hikers as a group will decide which trail to be hiked. Bring good boots, water and snacks. Meet at Boscov's East Parking (East side) across from Texas Roadhouse at 1:00 P.m. No car pool fee. Hike Leader Frank Swartz (717) 266-3463

KTA FALL ANNUAL MEETING: Will be held at Blue Knob Ski Resort, Claysburg, PA. Sept. 28-30, 2007. Rms. have kitchens/fireplaces. Go to KTA’S web site for more info. www.kta-hike.org. Non-members are welcome. Many good hikes are scheduled all weekend. A good chance to learn about PA’s Hiking Trails.

* "If there are no objections within 10 days" refers to things like almost getting a hike kicked out of a park.
