work trips, special events and announcements.
All are welcome to come on out on a hike to see what the club is all about.
A welcome sheet is handed out at every hike. This sheet has all you need to join and get on the mailing list.

for a hike is only if one Carpools. Please volunteer to lead a hike or two
for this 2019 year.
DUES: At the YHC annual meeting, we voted to increase dues from $10 to $12 beginning this coming year. The dues are being raised because we've had losses for the last couple of years. People that have already paid in advance will keep the $10 rate. Dues are payable in person at the Thanksgiving Dinner, or by mail to Kathy Yost, 510 Mundis Mill Rd., York, PA 17406. The dues year runs from October 1 - September 30. The dues levels are as follows:
Hike Leaders Wanted: We are so thankful for all of our hike leaders and were fortunate to add several new hike leaders this year. We are always in need of additional new hike leaders, so please consider leading a hike or two in 2019.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2 - LONG HIKE (10 MILES): Hike in Michaux State Forest using the Purple Lizard Map. Buck Ridge Trail to Ridge Rd stopping at Hammond’s Rocks. Returning using a shared-use trail to Mt. Creek Haul Rd. From Laurel Lake, we’ll complete the loop hike using Mt. Creek Trail. Moderate trail surface with one long, gradual climb. Bring your sense of adventure, hiking boots, water, lunch and snacks.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10 - MEDIUM HIKE (8 MILES): We will travel to King’s Gap where we will do a loop hike. There are some gradual climbs leading up to the Environmental Center. Bring water, lunch and snacks. Wear good hiking shoes/boots.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17 - LONG HIKE (10 - 11 MILES): Hiking on multi-use trails in Michaux State Forest south of US Route 30. There will be a couple of stream crossings, and possible muddy areas, so be prepared. Bring lunch and water and wear sturdy boots.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17 - SHORT HIKE (3-4 MILES): Nixon Park; Yes, I know we’ve done this before, but, I promise you lots of ups and downs, and I’m not talking about life. There may even be a water crossing so you may get your feet wet. Come out and see what’s in store for you. This should be a perfect time for hiking, so please join me and the boss for a pleasant day in the great outdoors. Hey and there’s no cost; How can you beat that?

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 23 - AT TRAIL MAINTENANCE: We will be doing trail maintenance on the AT. We anticipate doing repair to stone steps on the trail. Meet at the

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24 - MEMBERS ONLY ANNUAL TURKEY DINNER AND HIKE JPJ CABIN: Hike will begin at 10:00 AM. Meal served at 1:30 PM, hot cider and cookies at 1 PM. Annual dues must be paid before the dinner. You must sign up in advance for the meal. This is not a potluck. There are specific items that are needed for our turkey dinner. LOGBOOKS: The club will not be mailing out the annual log book this year due to the cost of mailing the individual log books. For people that do not pick-up the log book at the annual Turkey Hike and Dinner, they can be picked up at one of the quarterly meetings. The club will continue to mail log books to new club members. Individuals who are willing to lead short hikes on Wednesdays
